Controllers At Colorado Airport Didn’t Get Warning About Nighttime Instrument Landings

Federal investigators say controllers at the Aspen, Colorado airport apparently didn´t receive a warning
against nighttime instrument landings before last Thursday´s plane crash.

The chartered jet slammed into a hillside short of the runway, killing all 18
people aboard. Investigators still haven´t determined the cause of the crash.

Two days before the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a
notice that planes shouldn´t be allowed to make instrument landings at the Aspen airport at night.
