Davis’ Secret Power Deals Could Cost Customers More Money

A newspaper is reporting that secret power deals Governor Gray Davis is making with power generators to
buy electricity eventually could cost customers more money.

The San Francisco Chronicle says some of the more than 40 agreements contain a clause
that lets power companies increase prices as their natural gas costs rise.

The report says that cost would get passed on to customers, especially as
analysts predict natural gas prices will climb when power generators compete for limited supplies in later years.
