Timothy McVeigh´s execution, scheduled for next week, will be postponed. That announcement comes
from Attorney General John Ashcroft.Ashcroft says he is postponing the execution until June eleventh, a month from today. He says it´s a result of the revelation
that the F-B-I didn´t turn over thousands of documents for the McVeigh defense team at trial.
He says, however, that there´s nothing in those
documents that casts any doubt on McVeigh´s guilt for the Oklahoma City bombing.Ashcroft says he´s also asked the Justice Department´s inspector general
