L-A Police Clear Two Officers Of Misconduct

Police have cleared two L-A-P-D officers of misconduct charges stemming from a deadly 1996
shooting.

A disciplinary board Tuesday cleared officers Kulin Patel and Michael Montoya of all charges.

The two were accused of
wrongdoing by former officer Rafael Perez, the key witness in the Rampart corruption scandal. Perez accused Patel of shooting and killing an unarmed gang
member and planting a gun on him. He also claimed he never saw a weapon on a man that Montoya shot.
