A former motel handyman is due back in court Monday for a preliminary hearing on triple murder charges.
Cary Stayner is facing the death penalty for the murders of Eureka residents Carol and Juli Sund and Sylvina Pelosso nearly two and a half years ago outside of
Stayner is already facing life in prison after admitting to killing park naturalist Joie Armstrong in the park two years ago. Her
decapitated body was found in the park near her severed head.
The bodies of Pelosso and the Sunds were found in different areas of Tuolumne
County. Stayner confessed to the crimes sometime thereafter.
