Hundreds of fire crews, aided by ten air tankers and nine helicopters, continue to battle a northern
California forest fire that halted interstate rail and automobile traffic over the weekend.
The Sierra Nevada fire has already consumed over 20-thousand
Intercontinental rail service and interstate travel have resumed.
The fire began Sunday just east of Truckee and spread along the
Interstate 80 corridor to within seven miles of Reno, Nevada. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
