Authorities say a Shasta County sheriff´s deputy has been shot, but his injuries are not life threatening.
The sheriff´s department says the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. this morning after the officer arrested two people on drug charges and outstanding warrants.
The officer was apparently transporting the two suspects when his patrol car was stolen. It was later found in Redding.
Police are now looking for a red Honda that was reported stolen shortly after the shooting. They say the two suspects are believed to be armed and dangerous.
