The next in a series of powerful storms is expected to hit the Mother Lode and California later today. Expect gusty winds up to 40-mph in the Foothills.
In the Sierra Nevada snow will begin this evening and continue into Friday. Total snow accumulations of 15-to-25-inches are possible near 5,000-feet with 1-to-3-feet of snow at high elevation.
This storm is then expected to head southward toward Los Angeles. At least nine people have died in weather-related accidents since the first wet front hit last week.
