The cousin of three teenagers whose mother was found murdered 18 months ago is trying to evict them from their Modesto home.
The children’s cousin is listed on the title of the house. Chandar Singh says he wants the teens out because he believes they are harming his credit.
The siblings – ages 18, 15 and 14 – have struggled to pay the mortgage on their own since their mother was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend.
Their mother – Shanti Prakash – had their cousin added to the title after their father was deported because she had no credit history. Now Singh tells The Modesto Bee that the children can’t afford the $700 payment. He says he’s been sent a foreclosure notice.
Doreen, Roneel and Dorothy Prakash received a notice telling them to vacate the home by this Wednesday. They will ask a judge to delay the eviction at a court hearing set for today.
