Swarm Robberies Target Mini Marts

Sacramento police are trying to apprehend a group of people who rush into convenience stores and charge out with armloads of merchandise.

On November 17th, three convenience stores in south Sacramento were targeted by a group of about 30 people.

Police say the crowd took beer, cigarettes and entire racks of snacks. In all, there have been six so-called swarm robberies in the area in the past month. Police Captain Sam Somers says the swarm robberies are not uncommon. He said the people often attend events, bars and clubs that draw large crowds before the raids.
