Sharks Fire Darryl Sutter

The San Jose Sharks have fired coach Darryl Sutter along with two assistants.

Doug Wilson – who’s the Sharks´ director of pro development – and scout Cap Raeder, will coach the team until a new head coach is named.

San Jose is off to a disappointing 8-12-2-and-2 start. Sutter had led the Sharks to five consecutive seasons of improved point totals.

After last night’s home loss to Phoenix, the Sharks were in last place in the Pacific Division. They won the division last season.

Sutter was the fifth coach in Sharks history. He’s the team’s career leader in wins, winning percentage and games coached.
