The National Weather service has issued a high-wind advisory for much of California today, as a fast-moving low-pressure system is expected to sweep across the state, bringing high winds with it.
In the Sierra, the gusts are expected to reach 60 miles an hour, and motorists are urged to use extra caution.
Because of the winds and the warning, today’s burn day status has been changed. As of 1 p.m., today is now a no burn day and anyone burning should extinguish their burn piles. Tuesday will also be a no-burn day.
