Expect the power to go out somewhere in the Mother Lode these next few days of stormy weather.
PG and E´s Mark Hendrickson says with the first major storm of the season comes power problems. He says crews are very busy this morning.
An outage in the Jamestown area around 4 this morning knocked out power to 105 PG and E customers. Early morning reports sent Tuolumne County fire crews to several power pole and transformer fires as well.
More than 6,800 San Francisco Bay area customers of Pacific Gas and Electric are without electric service this morning as the first of a series of storms rolls through that area. That’s a big improvement over the pre-dawn hours.
Company spokesman Jason Alderman says the total includes 1,300 in Contra Costa County, 2,000 in Alameda County and 400 in San Francisco. However – statewide, the picture isn´t pretty. Alderman says more than 81,000 PG and E customers don´t have power. In the Fresno area, some 24,000 people are without service, and 15,000 are in the dark in Stockton.
