No Relief From Smoke Yet

Get used to see smoke. More prescribed burns are planned for this week.

The U.S. Forest Service will ignite a 160-acre low intensity fire in the Wright’s Creek area of the Mi-Wuk Ranger District Monday.

Forest Service officials say smoke from the burn will be seen from Highway 108 south of Long Barn, with lingering smoke in the canyons during morning hours.

In the Groveland Ranger District, U.S. Forest Service fire crews will burn a total of 1,200-acres near Bull Meadows above the Clavey River and Moss Canyon beginning Monday, as well.
