The Chevron refinery in Richmond shut down most major units Monday morning after it suffered a major power outage.
Contra Costa County Health Services Haz-Mat specialist Mike Wedl says the power went out at about 7:23 am. He says the refinery shut down most major units. County crews are keeping an eye on air quality around the refinery.
Wedl says Chevron generates its own power, and there´s no immediate word on why it went out.
