Cause Of Power Outage In Motherlode Found
P-G and E crews took several hours to get the lights back on yesterday afternoon for nearly 10-thousand Mother Lode customers. Spokesperson Mark Hendrickson says a squirrel got into some heavy equipment at about 2:00 in the afternoon and caused extensive damage to insulators at the Curtis Substation.
As a result, new equipment had to be brought in. Hendrickson says the majority of customers had power restored by 5 p.m.
