The lawyer representing convicted killer Cary Stayner is asking a jury to show mercy and kindness instead of hatred and revenge.
The jury in San Jose, California, is now deciding whether Stayner will be executed or spend life in prison for killing three women.
The same panel convicted him in August of murdering the women at Yosemite National Park – where he’d served as a handyman.
Stayner is already serving a life prison term for killing a nature guide in 1999.
Prosecutors say Stayner is a predator who wants the jury to “throw him a bone” by sentencing him to life in prison.
