Plane Hits Hangar After Aborted Takeoff

The pilot and one passenger were injured today when a commuter plane struck an airport hangar after an aborted takeoff. Authorities say the crash at Hawthorne Municipal Airport south of Los Angeles involved a twin-engine plane carrying 19 passengers and two crewmen. The plane that had been scheduled to fly to the Grand Canyon swerved off the runway into the hangar, but did not catch fire.
