Closing arguments underway in San Jose, in the sanity phase of the triple homicide trial of Yosemite killer Cary Stayner. Yesterday a prosecution psychiatrist testified that Stayner told him the 1999 killings of Carol and Julie Sund and family friend Silvina Pelosso were just a job. Doctor Park Dietz said Stayner told him that when you have a job, you have to do it. Dietz says he believes Stayner was sane when he killed the three women. Stayner faces the death penalty if he´s found to have been sane at the time of the slayings. He was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder last month. Stayner has already been sentenced to life in prison after a federal trial for the murder of a park naturalist.
