Firefighters have contained a grass and brush fire along Serano Road that broke out shortly after noon. Spokesperson Deb fish with the Tuolumne County Fire department reports it´s about an acre and a half in size. Two small outbuildings have burned. Fish says a combination of quick attack and good clearance around buildings in the area minimized the damage. Smoke will be seen in the vicinity for a while this afternoon.
At Highway 108 and Wilms Road in the Knight’s Ferry area of Stanislaus County another fire is burning in about 100 acres of grass. It´s moving at a moderate rate of speed. Watch for emergency vehicles near both fires.
