Fire Restrictions In National Forests
Beginning tomorrow fire restrictions will be in place in the Stanislaus National Forest for elevations beginning at 1250 feet.
Acting Supervisor Glenn Gottschall is imposing the curbs in view of continuing record heat, and very dry conditions. The action covers the Groveland, Mi-Wok, Summit and Calaveras Ranger Districts. No campfires or barbecues allowed outside designated areas. No smoking in the forest, and no welding or use of explosives without special permit.
The same restrictions are being imposed in the Eldorado National Forest.
