No Injuries Reported At L.A. Apartment Fire

More than 20 Los Angeles area fire companies are getting the upper hand on a fire in a five-or-six story apartment building near Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The building apparently was a construction site.

No injuries are reported. Winds are blowing the heavy smoke from the hospital area, and no evacuations have been ordered at the medical complex. City fire spokesman Brian Humphries says the preliminary information is that the fire struck a renovation project. Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to other large apartment buildings.
