Modesto Police Catch Bank Robber. ID’d Partners

Hooded sweat shirts gave Modesto police the clues they needed to put a man in jail in connection with a Jan. 4 bank robbery. Samuel Vernell Davis, 31, was arrested in Los Angeles, and police say they have identified two other suspects from LA and are going back to look for them. The armed robbery took place just after 10 a.m. at Washington Mutual, 2609 McHenry Ave.

The pair, wearing hooded sweat shirts and ski masks, escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. On Jan. 7, after hearing from Modesto police, LA officers arrested Davis on a parole hold. He was booked at Stanislaus County Jail on charges of bank robbery, false imprisonment, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and using a gun during the commission of a felony.
