A television crew working on “The Guardian” used garden hoses and a bucket brigade, but were unable to save three young children trapped in a burning home today in Los

Angeles.

Despite the efforts of the crew from the CBS series and neighbors, a four-year-old girl and two boys, ages three and five, were killed in the blaze as it swept through the converted two-story home.

Three adults were injured in the blaze. Two were treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation. The children´s grandmother was taken to a hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.

The co-executive producer of “The Guardian” says his crew´s security personnel, drivers and the second assistant director used garden hoses and a bucket brigade to get water through a window.
