Stories of people´s dealings with dogs, including an account of a near-fatal bite that changed a family´s life, dominated jury selection today for a criminal trial stemming from the fatal mauling of a San Francisco woman. As the judge and lawyers search for the ultimate panel, almost everyone called as a prospective juror says they have knowledge of the case. A few had followed it from its inception. But most say they have only cursory information and could put it out of their minds. Only one man said he knows absolutely nothing about the case and felt he was “making a fool of myself” by admitting it. The case was moved to Los Angeles because of extensive publicity in San Francisco.
