Oakland Area’s Water Supply Switching

The source of public water in Oakland, Berkeley and Alameda is being switched to an area reservoir for about a week. Authorities say residents may notice a change in the water´s taste. Water normally piped to the East Bay cities from the Sierra foothills has been shut off for about one week, while crew examine 70-year-old water pipes in a three-mile stretch of the Claremont tunnel.
