Vice President Dick Cheney is to spend four days in California next week in a combination of policy speeches and political fund-raisers. He´s scheduled to begin the extended California visit Monday at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station. An aide says he will deliver a speech praising the American military, and reviewing the nation´s defense policy. Los Angeles, Fresno, Sacramento and San Jose are included in his four-day itinerary.
The vice president and his wife Lynne are to take part in a fund-raising luncheon Tuesday at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda, and a Tuesday night California Republican event in Los Angeles.
On Wednesday, the vice president is scheduled to appear in Fresno with Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman, a former California state agriculture chief.
Cheney´s schedule includes Republican fund-raisers Wednesday at Pleasanton and Sacramento, with a Thursday speech in San Jose dealing with economic and high-tech matters.
