A man has been arrested after trying to pass military explosives through a luggage screening machine at Los Angeles International Airport. Los Angeles police officer Nadine Hernandez says the suspect was an inactive national guardsman. An FAA official says the device was found in the man´s carry on luggage as it passed through the conveyor belt on the second floor of terminal six. Police says the item resembled an M 80 firecracker and caused a screener to be concerned. A perimeter was set up in the area, but the entire terminal was not evacuated. There were no apparent flight delays.
