Prosecutors say murder charges will be brought against a man in the carbon monoxide poisoning deaths of five of his children. A sixth child, a nine-year-old girl, is
reported likely to survive, but her condition today was NOT available.
Los Angeles County Sheriff´s investigators say they are “absolutely certain” 30-year-old Adair Garcia of suburban Pico Rivera, intended to kill the six children and himself, with fumes from barbeque charcoal burned inside the home early yesterday.
Garcia is reported in stable condition at a Whittier hospital. The five children who have died ranged in age from two to ten.
Classmates and teachers mourned at La Merced elementary and intermediate schools nearby. The Garcia family had moved to the area only two months ago.
