Local Politicians Try To Help Debt

The Governor´s office is looking at several ways to pare down the estimated 17 billion dollar budget shortfall the state is expected to withstand over the next two years. Republican assemblyman Dave Cogdill of Modesto and his colleagues want Davis to steer away from employees and local government to find the money to pay the debt. Dwindling state tax revenue collection from businesses has increased the state´s debt by over four billion dollars since January.
