Malfunction Causes L A X Delay

Hundreds of travelers have been evacuated from Los Angeles International Airport terminal after a metal detector malfunctioned this morning.

An L-A-X spokesman says screeners noticed the machine was turned off at Terminal four at about 6:30 a-m.

As a precaution, authorities are clearing out travelers in terminals four through eight for rescreening, because passengers can walked between buildings beyond the security checkpoint.

Airport officials say flight delays are expected.
