Another Short-Lived Evacuation At LAX
A suspicious item detected by a screening machine forced another evacuation at Los Angeles International Airport this morning.
The evacuation was lifted less than 20 minutes later. Airport police were notified that a Terminal Three screener detected what was described only as “a suspicious item´´ at the ticket counter.
The evacuation order was lifted when explosives experts determined there were no explosives or danger.
American, Frontier and Horizon aircraft operate out of Terminal Three.
In a separate instance this morning, the bomb squad and F-B-I responded to a threat aboard a Varig Brazil airliner that landed shortly after seven o´clock.
The plane landed as scheduled, and baggage is being screening. The passengers are waiting in customs.
