Vegetarians are baseball lovers too.
And the Oakland Coliseum knows it.
The Coliseum ranks fourth on a list of America´s Top Ten vegetarian-friendly ballparks.
The list is put out by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and Oakland´s Coliseum is the only California ballpark to make the cut.
A´s fans buy about 80 to 100 veggie dogs and burgers each game. Salads and baked potatoes are popular.
And one stand, run by “Your Black Muslim Bakery” offers veggies and tofu.
PETA spokesman Dan Shannon says it´s not just common sense to offer food options for vegetarians. He says the food can make ballparks money from those who might not have bought anything.
The Oakland A´s play the Rangers in Texas Tuesday afternoon. Hear all the action starting at 5 p.m. on AM 1450 KVML.
