Modesto police will start cracking down on crusing in that town beginning Friday night.
With the springtime weather, crusing and loitering along McHenry Avenue and in the downtown hits an all-time high. The Modesto police will have higher profile patrols and enforcement of violators, with particular attention given to traffic violations and potential gang-related problems.
Minor-aged curfew violators will be taken to the Modesto Police Department Curfew Center at 600 10th street and held until a parent picks them up.
Curfew hours for minors 16 years old and younger is 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for minors 17 years old, said Modesto Police.
