For Phyllis Diller, it´s her last hurrah. The Grand Dame of Stand-up has called it quits after nearly a half a century of cracking jokes about face-lifts and her imaginary husband, Fang.
Fans traveled from all over Southern California to Cal State Northridge (in Los Angeles County) to watch the 84-year-old comedian give her last live performance.
Although Diller won´t be doing any more stand-up she says she´ll still appear in films and television shows.
She says the grueling travel “isn´t as easy as it looks.”
Long-time friends Bob and Dolores Hope said in a statement: “For the Queen of Comedy to just hang up her wigs and walk away, we don´t think so. Put them in mothballs, maybe.”
Diller will appear next in the May eighth episode of “The Drew Carey Show.”
