A collision between two big rigs has brought traffic to a standstill on the southbound I-5 in the Castaic area.
CHP Officer J. Seumanutafa says the crash occurred at about 4:10 Tuesday afternoon just north of Templin Highway.
The number of people hurt is not known, but the CHP says a life-flight helicopter has been brought in to transport the injured.
Only one lane is open on the southbound I-5 and traffic is backed up for miles. Caltrans is en route to the scene to clean up a diesel spill caused by the collision.
It´s not known when the remaining lanes of the freeway will re-open.
