Highway Patrol Investigating Crashes

An unknown driver and passenger are being sought by the California Highway Patrol after they plowed through a picket fence and landed in the yard of a Butler Lane home in San Andreas.

The pair fled on foot immediately after the crash.

The highway patrol says the 1989 blue Chevy pickup is thought to be involved with a gasoline drive-off at a Valley Springs area gas station an hour before the crash occurred.

The wayward truck damaged the lawn and several trees in the yard.

The CHP is also looking for a hit and run driver involved in a injury crash at Highway 49 and Center Street in San Andreas.

Investigators say the unknown driver pulled onto the highway from Center Street and hit 87 year-old Allan McCombie and his wife broadside. The suspect, said to be driving a green late model chevy, fled the scene in the damaged vehicle. The couple suffered only minor injuries.
