Davis Reportedly Asked For Money At Teacher Meeting
Governor Gray Davis reportedly asked a teachers group for a one million dollar campaign donation during a meeting in his Capitol office. According to the Los Angeles Times, the president of the California Teachers Association says the governor sought the campaign funds during a Valentine´s Day policy meeting. It isn´t illegal to ask for money on state property, but the report adds fuel to the controversy surrounding the governor´s fund-raising tactics.
