Court officials in San Diego say that 245 potential jurors in the David Westerfield murder trial have been excused for hardship. Westerfield is accused of kidnapping and murdering seven-year-old Danielle van Dam. Investigators say they found Danielle´s blood, hair and fingerprints in Westerfield´s motor home.
A San Diego Superior Court spokeswoman says another 262 possible jurors filled out answers to a 21-page questionnaire. The questionnaire asks about potential jurors´ attitudes on capital punishment and whether they have been exposed to pornography. Westerfield´s trial is expected to last at least 12 weeks.
