Governor Gray Davis will join veterans and officials to pay tribute to the military personnel who gave their lives in defense of the country in Los Angeles today. The 113th Memorial Day ceremony amid the graves of the Los Angeles National Cemetery in Westwood will include a flyover by the World War Two-vintage Condor Squadron, rifle salutes and the firing of a Civil War-era cannon. The keynote speaker will be Major General James W. Comstock, commanding general of the 311th Support Command. Governor Davis and Democratic assemblyman Herb Wesson will also speak.
