Modesto Man Threatens Children, School Locked Down
A 44 year old Modesto man is being evaluated at the Stanislaus Behavior Health Center, after police say he threatened to shoot his children at their school.
Jesus Chavez Acevedo threatened to kill the children and himself, according to a family member. Officials locked down the school attended by his children for just under an hour, while officers negotiated with Acevedo at the home of his father. He surrendered after about a half hour. A school psychologist is available for the students this morning.
