Plane Crash Victims From San Diego

Two San Diego men escaped serious injury when their single engine Cessna went down in thick woods in the Swiss Ranch Road area of Mountain Ranch shortly after 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

80-year-old pilot Donald Oliver and passenger 50-year-old Bruce Hasslinger called 911 which helped the CHP helicopter and Calaveras County deputies locate the wreckage.

Oliver was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Hospital and Hasslinger was taken to Mark Twain Hospital. The pair are in stable condition.

Federal investigators have begun examining the scene of the crash this morning.
