Area Accidents Injure Several
A two year old child and a woman were seriously injured Wednesday morning shortly after 11 a.m. in a crash on Highway 49 near Tuttletown Road.
The pair were transported to the Columbia Airport to be med-flighted to U.C. Davis Medical Center. A third victim was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
An Antioch woman suffered major injuries Tuesday afternoon when she lost control of her Toyota pick-up on Highway 26 and struck a tree. The CHP reports 40 year old Gillie Estes was headed east near Ridge Road when the accident occurred.
Highway patrol investigators say the woman was not wearing a seatbelt. Witnesses told CHP the woman had passed over the center line several times prior to the crash, nearly hitting a big rig truck head-on.
She was taken by air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Hospital.
A Valley Springs man sustain minor injuries when his truck went off Highway 26 at Mokelumne Hill Tuesday, ran down an embankment and hit a tree.
