Jury May See More Porn

More evidence of child pornography may get introduced today in the San Diego murder trial of David Westerfield. At least two jurors were in tears as they were shown photo and video images yesterday, items allegedly seized by police from Westerfield´s home. Westerfield is charged with kidnapping and murdering seven-year-old Danielle van Dam and misdemeanor possession of child pornography. Defense attorney Steven Feldman suggested the pornography could have belonged to Westerfield´s 18-year-old son, Neil. Before the start of the trial, Judge William Mudd limited prosecutors to showing only a few pornographic images. But the judge decided yesterday that more could be introduced as evidence to counter a defense contention that only a small fraction of the more than eight thousand images seized from Westerfield´s computer featured children.
