Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency today for the county of San Luis Obispo. Schwarzenegger praised rescue workers and toured Paso Robles to survey the damage and talk to the people. He also made comments on the subject of homeland security during the holidays.
“I have ordered increased security measures in our state,” Schwarzenegger said. He said key areas, such as harbors, power plants, airports and bridges, will receive extra security. “This is an elevated state of readiness to insure the safety of all our people in California.”
Schwarzenegger said in this heightened security time, he´s being kept informed by federal officials, to help protect all citizens in California.
“I urge your attention and common sense will be helpful as well,” the governor told Californians this morning. “Be alert and be security minded.”
