Modular Home Total Loss To Fire

Tuolumne County and Groveland Community Services District firefighters are now mopping up from an early morning fire in a modular home outside Groveland.

An 1,100 square-foot home with a large wooden deck was fully involved in flames when fire crews first arrived The fire, about 6 miles outside Groveland on Prospect Heights Drive, was first reported at 6:15 a.m. this morning.

Deb Fish with Tuolumne County Fire Department says a second structure next door was also burning, but firefighters were able to save that one from major damage.

Availability of water in the area was a problem in battling the blaze. Water tank trucks were called in from Sonora.

Fish says a propane gas line has been broken in that mobile home park and gas service to about 30 homes in the park has been shut down temporarily.

Fish say’s the owners of the house were not home at the time of the blaze. She estimated damages at $120,000. It is a total loss. There were no injuries fighting that fire.
