Tuolumne County and Groveland Community Services District firefighters are now mopping up from an early morning fire in a modular home outside Groveland.
An 1,100 square-foot home with a large wooden deck was fully involved in flames when fire crews first arrived The fire, about 6 miles outside Groveland on Prospect Heights Drive, was first reported at 6:15 a.m. this morning.
Deb Fish with Tuolumne County Fire Department says a second structure next door was also burning, but firefighters were able to save that one from major damage.
Availability of water in the area was a problem in battling the blaze. Water tank trucks were called in from Sonora.
Fish says a propane gas line has been broken in that mobile home park and gas service to about 30 homes in the park has been shut down temporarily.
Fish sayâ€™s the owners of the house were not home at the time of the blaze. She estimated damages at $120,000. It is a total loss. There were no injuries fighting that fire.
