“Blind” Bank Robber Behind Bars
Modesto police have arrested an alleged bank robber who forgot to cut eye holes in his disguise during a clumsy heist.
Stephen David Walker was spotted Thursday afternoon just blocks from the Oak Valley Community Bank branch that was robbed Monday. The 49-year-old Walker was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail on a bank robbery charge.
During the robbery, police say Walker wore a piece of cloth that was draped over his head and held on with a hat. But the mask didn´t have eye holes, so the bandit was forced to repeatedly lift the cloth so he could see. On his way out, the suspect bumped into a door head-first. That knocked off his hat and gave witnesses a look at his face.
