Peterson DNA Will Stand In Court
A Stanislaus County Superior Court judge ruled today that prosecutors in the Laci Peterson murder case can use mitochondrial DNA extracted from hair found in Scott Peterson´s boat. Mitochondrial DNA has rarely been used as evidence in California court cases and it can´t provide a definitive match. Defense attorneys had challenged the evidence as unreliable.
Prosecutors are arguing that Scott Peterson killed his pregnant wife and dumped her body in the San Francisco Bay.
