Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting ready to take over California´s top job. Last night Schwarzenegger met with his 65-member transition team in Sacramento — including high-profile members like San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown and former Secretary of State George Shultz. Schwarzenegger thanked the group for advising him on how to take the reins of power.
The Republican governor-elect also joked about the support of his Democratic relatives. Schwarzenegger thanked his mother-in-law, Eunice Shriver, a sister of the late President John F. Kennedy.
Schwarzenegger joked that Eunice Shriver had even said the Democratic president would have voted for the movie star. Then the governor-elect added with a laugh, “I´m just making that up.”
For the swearing-in ceremony, Schwarzenegger is planning a brief speech — and is starting work this afternoon.
