Despite 8,000 invited guests and 500 journalists, Arnold Schwarzenegger´s swearing-in Monday is being called “low-key affair” by its planners.
It will also be short — just 45 minutes, including a ten-minute speech on leadership from Schwarzenegger.
The swearing-in will take place shortly after 11 a.m. on the west steps of the state Capitol. The oath will be administered by the California Supreme Court´s chief justice. Schwarzenegger plans to use either a family Bible or a historic Bible or possibly both, which his wife, Maria Shriver, will hold.
The couple´s two young sons, Patrick and Christopher, will lead schoolchildren in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
A few of Schwarzenegger´s Hollywood friends are expected to attend, including Rob Lowe, Kelsey Grammer and Vanessa Williams, who will sing the nation anthem.
